Antiphospholipid Syndrome, or APS, is an autoimmune disease that causes the body’s antibodies to attack the phospholipids or fat cells. The disease targets the proteins that bind to the fat cells. It is sometimes referred to as Hughes’s Syndrome and can be associated with Lupus, another autoimmune disease.
