Advanced Alternative Sarcoma Treatment

Stop feeling helpless – you still have options!

Sarcomas are given a number of different names based on the type of tissue from which they arise. For example, osteosarcoma arises from bone, chondrosarcoma arises from cartilage and leiomyosarcoma arises from smooth muscle. Sarcomas strike people in all age ranges, but they are very rare, accounting for only 1% of all cases of cancer. In addition to being named based on the tissue of origin, sarcomas are also assigned a grade, such as low grade or high grade.

Soft tissue sarcomas, such as leiomyosarcoma, chondrosarcoma and gastrointestinal stromal tumor are more common in adults than in children. Gastrointestinal stromal tumor is the most common form of sarcoma, with approximately 3000-3500 cases per year in the United States. Other sarcomas, such as osteosarcoma, Ewing’s sarcoma, PNET and desmoplastic small round cell tumor are more common in children than in adults. These tumors most commonly strike adolescents and young adults between the ages of 12 and 25.

Low-grade sarcomas are usually treated surgically, although sometimes radiation therapy or chemotherapy is used. If the sarcoma is high-grade or more advanced, a combination of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery are used. Since these high-grade tumors are more likely to spread, they are treated aggressively. Childhood sarcomas are almost always treated with a combination of surgery and chemotherapy. Radiation is frequently used as well.

Since the symptoms associated with sarcoma generally do not appear until the disease is in its advanced stages, the 5-year survival rate for a sarcoma patient is very low when using only conventional treatment.

At Sunridge Medical, our highly-trained physicians are experts in providing an integrated approach to the treatment of sarcomas. Our treatment plans are individualized, even for patients with the same type of cancer, and involve both traditional and alternative medicines. We have integrated advanced, research-based alternative medicines with conventional therapies into a comprehensive, individualized treatment program that offers patients optimal success.

Our physicians have found that symptoms can frequently be improved and even reversed with our natural sarcoma treatments. We take a holistic approach to patient care and strive to not only treat the cancer, but also alleviate symptoms, increase quality of life and most importantly, address the underlying cause of the disease.

Even if standard treatments have reached their limits, patients with sarcoma still have treatment options.
